Where we start from

A job site has to work for people who cannot read the screen or do not use a mouse. That is why we build IrelandJobHub for assistive tools from the start, instead of adding them later.

What we do for that

  • The whole site can be used with just a keyboard, with a visible focus and a link to jump straight to the content.
  • Pages are built with meaningful headings and recognisable landmarks, so screen readers can find their way around.
  • Text and background have ample contrast, and the site stays usable when you enlarge the text.
  • If your system is set to reduced motion, we respect that and keep still as well.
  • Forms have clear labels and error messages in plain language, without jargon.

What we measure ourselves against

We aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. There has been no formal audit yet; this page is an honest state of affairs, not a certificate.
