Role Overview

Uisce Éireann is recruiting a Field Engineer to support Customer Operations by delivering excellent service experiences for both residential and commercial clients. The position focuses on managing customer relationships, ensuring accurate billing services, and implementing the company’s customer strategy effectively within the regulated water industry.

Key Responsibilities

The engineer provides a premium experience throughout the connection process, from initial request to final implementation. Duties include monitoring incoming requests for non-standard new connections and evaluating plans received from customers for additional technical investigations.

  • Coordinate site visits with the Customer Team to ensure timely inspections.
  • Conduct site assessments in line with Uisce Éireann’s Health and Safety policies.
  • Perform technical and external assessments on new connection requests as needed.
  • Document inspection outcomes and approve or close work orders accordingly.
  • Interact with Senior Engineers or Designers to identify technical requirements for work orders.
  • Support network development work, including increases and strengthening due to new connection needs.
  • Carry out acceptance inspections and testing as required by operational standards.
  • Gather all relevant customer information during site visits in consultation with Key Account Managers.
  • Ensure new or updated asset data is provided to systems or the Asset Information Team for corporate archive updates.
  • Record relevant customer and property information in GIS systems for multiple property applications.
  • Contribute to the development of business processes and procedures as necessary.
  • Assist in achieving the objectives and goals of Asset Operations Business Plans.
  • Provide support to Senior Management of Connection & Developer Services as required.
  • Fulfill other duties related to Customer Operations work as reasonably requested by Uisce Éireann.

General Duties

The role requires collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the Uisce Éireann entity. The engineer is responsible for promoting and implementing health and safety commitments throughout the organization and its supply chain.

  • Strengthen positive behaviors and deliver health and safety objectives meeting the highest industry standards.
  • Support the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme to deliver required results within the Directorate.
  • Execute duties in accordance with Uisce Éireann’s Information Security policies, standards, and controls.
  • Protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Uisce Éireann’s business information.
  • Ensure compliance with NIS (Network and Information Security) Directive and other relevant cybersecurity regulations.
